Visa Requirements for Thailand
Visa Not Required
Click here for a list of countries whose citizens do not require a visa to enter Thailand. Citizens of these countries only need to present their passports to the immigration authorities upon arrival. The immigration authorities will stamp an entry date into your passport. You will be permitted to remain in Thailand for the following number of days:
- 30 days if you arriving at one of Thailand’s international airports.
- 15 days if you are arriving overland at one of Thailand’s border checkpoints (Malaysian nationals arriving overland from Malaysia are exempted from this and will be allowed to stay maximum 30 days).

Important notes about Visas On Arrival:
- Maximum stay in Thailand is 15 days and visas on arrival generally cannot be extended from inside Thailand except under very special circumstances.
- Applicant must possess a means of living expenses at the amount of 10,000 Baht (approx. USD 330) per person.
- Applicant must possess a passport with at least 6 months validity.
- Applicant must present fully paid ticket which is usable within 15 days since date of entry.
- Applicant should submit application form with a recent photograph (4 x 6 cm). Application forms are available at the airport / border checkpoint or can be downloaded and filled-in in advance.
- Cost for a visa on arrival is 1,000 Baht (approx. USD 35).

Visas Prior to Arrival
If your country is not listed in the Visa Not Required section or Visa On Arrival section above then you must obtain a visa before you come to Thailand.
Please contact a local Thai Embassy or Consulate nearest you for more information about the requirements and application process applicable to your country. Requirements and processes vary according to different countries.

Travelers from / through Yellow Fever Areas Please Note
Travelers from/through countries which have been declared Yellow Fever Infected Areas must acquire an International Health Certificate verifying the receiving of a Yellow Fever vaccination. For more information, please see List of Countries which are Declared Yellow Fever Infected Areas.
